Part-Time Security Officer - Gatehouse

About the role

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company, is hiring a part-time Security Officer for its gatehouse in Yuma, Arizona. The role is an unarmed patrol position at a food and beverage production location, monitoring and patrolling assigned areas while providing customer service and supporting a welcoming environment for employees and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors and employees by carrying out security procedures, site policies and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, production areas, access points, parking areas and perimeter to identify unusual conditions and deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access by verifying credentials, documenting visitor activity and reporting access-control concerns.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms and critical situations, contacting the right people and emergency services when needed.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain logs of patrols, incidents, observations and other security activities.

Required profile

• At least one year of security-related experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles (21+ for armed roles).
• Preferred: comfort using a computer or tablet, a guard card or license, and customer service experience.
• A valid driver's license is required only for driving positions.
• Applicants must pass a background investigation and a drug screen to the extent permitted by law; licensing requirements may apply before employment.
