Part-Time Prep Cook

About the role

Legends & ASM Global, which manages public assembly facilities including the Dayton Convention Center, is hiring a part-time Prep Cook immediately. The cook prepares food as directed, handles cooking, baking and butchering, and carries out all kitchen duties quickly and efficiently while meeting quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Follow Health Department and ServSafe regulations
• Prepare food products according to recipes and specifications
• Complete daily production priorities and assist with plating
• Keep the work area clean, including refrigerators, counters and storage areas
• Report shortages or equipment problems to the supervisor
• Apply knowledge of food quality, storage, rotation and consistency, and follow Uniform Standards policy

Required profile

• Six months of commercial kitchen experience preferred
• Basic math skills and ability to pass a basic math test
• Fluent spoken, reading and written English
• Flexible hours, including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays, and irregular hours dictated by events
• Able to lift 50 pounds, push 50 pounds and move heavy wheeled carts, and to stand and walk for long periods

• No computer skills required
