Part-time Adult Education ESL Instructor – North Metro Campus

About the role

We are seeking a part‑time Adult Education ESL Instructor to join the North Metro Campus of the State of Georgia. The instructor will deliver evening English as a Second Language classes to adult learners, helping them improve reading, writing, speaking and listening skills while gaining knowledge of American civics and workplace culture.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver ESL instruction in reading, writing, speaking, listening, civics, workplace skills and American culture.
• Prepare lesson plans aligned with English Language Proficiency Standards and TABE assessments.
• Adapt materials and teaching methods for students with special needs.
• Provide guidance, monitor attendance, contact absentees and support learners in achieving their goals.
• Evaluate student progress using TABE and other ESL tests, record results and report to supervisors.
• Maintain required documentation, retention reports and a secure classroom environment.

Required profile

• Ability to teach adult ESL learners in an evening classroom setting.
• Experience preparing lesson plans and instructional materials.
• Capability to assess and track student progress.
• Commitment to confidentiality and accurate record‑keeping.
