PAR/MA - Urgent Care - Mid City

About the role

This position provides appointment scheduling and medical assistant functions within the Mid‑City Urgent Care clinic. The role involves direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed provider, ensuring compassionate and efficient service.

Key responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to patients, guests, and family members, including completing required forms and gathering accurate paperwork.
• Enter patient and guarantor demographic and financial information, explain insurance benefits, and collect co‑pays, deductibles, and self‑pay amounts.
• Perform vital signs, obtain height, weight, allergy and medication histories, and prepare patients for exams.
• Schedule and reschedule appointments by phone or in person, and transfer patients to appropriate departments as needed.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED (required); completion of a Medical Assistant training program (preferred).
• Related experience in a clinic or medical office setting (preferred).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (required).

Required skills

• Proficiency with Windows‑style applications, data entry, and retrieval of patient information.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills for interacting with patients and staff.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and collaborate with other departments.
