Parks Technician – Full-time Positions in Portland

About the role

The City of Portland is hiring Parks Technicians to keep neighborhood parks clean, safe, and welcoming. You will work outdoors year‑round, interacting with the public and performing a variety of maintenance tasks across two city zones.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and maintain park restrooms and outdoor furnishings.
• Collect litter, empty trash containers, and pressure‑wash sidewalks and hard surfaces.
• Perform routine landscape care, including irrigation system checks and vegetation maintenance.
• Report rule violations and submit work orders for repairs using the MicroMain system.
• Collaborate with crew members and supervisors to complete daily assignments safely.

• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Commitment to providing a safe and positive experience for park visitors.
• Flexibility to work the specified Sunday‑Thursday shifts.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the MicroMain work‑order platform.
