Outside Sales Representative - San Antonio

About the role

The Home Depot is hiring an Outside Sales Representative (OSR) in San Antonio. The OSR drives incremental sales growth and profitability through account relationships, focusing on complex business expansion and new business development. They monitor key performance indicators for assigned professional customers and meet or exceed sales and margin targets by working with the Pro Sales Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Cultivate net-new sales relationships using local community events to promote the Pro brand and expand complex business, selling all products and services including commercial credit, volume pricing, delivery, will-call pickup and online ordering.
• Produce new account revenue against individual targets and quotas, partnering with the Inside Sales Support Representative on quoting, ordering and transactions.
• Sell to assigned customers through in-person sales appointments and develop strategies to expand the customer base within the territory.
• Prospect for new business using leads from the internal Sales Development team and from existing customers, stores and the community.
• Use Salesforce to plan sales calls, manage customer communications and maintain a healthy pipeline.
• Take part in district and regional meetings and report weekly activities to the Pro Sales Manager.

Required profile

• Able to work in the United States; must be 18 or older.
• High school diploma or GED; no additional education required.
• Preferred: 5 years of professional experience, including 2 years in account or sales management and 2+ years in home improvement or home building.
• Preferred: strong network-building, leadership, negotiation and communication skills, and deep understanding of Pro customer needs.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (preferred)
• Use of Salesforce for sales planning and pipeline management

Travel is typically required 20% to 50% of the time, with occasional overnight trips. The role involves mostly sitting, standing or walking, and occasional lifting of moderately heavy items.
