Outside Sales Representative - Professional Customers (CT)

About the role

The Home Depot is hiring an Outside Sales Representative (OSR) in Connecticut, a virtual position focused on professional customers. The OSR drives incremental sales growth and profitability through account relationships, with a focus on complex business expansion and new business development. The role works closely with the Pro Sales Manager to meet or exceed sales and margin targets.

Key responsibilities

• Cultivate net-new sales relationships using local community events to promote the Pro brand and expand complex business
• Sell all products and services, including commercial credit, volume pricing, delivery, will-call pickup and online ordering
• Meet individual revenue targets and quotas, partnering with the Inside Sales Support Representative on quoting, ordering and transactions
• Prospect for new business using leads from the internal Sales Development team and from existing customers, stores and the community
• Manage customer relationships and the sales pipeline in Salesforce, and attend district/regional meetings as needed
• Report weekly activities to the Pro Sales Manager

Required profile

• Able to work in the United States; must be 18 or older
• High school diploma or GED
• Preferred: 5 years of professional experience, including 2 years in account or sales management and 2+ years in home improvement or home building
• Preferred: strong leadership, negotiation and communication skills, and excellent verbal and written communication

Required skills

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (preferred)
• Use of Salesforce to plan calls, manage communications and maintain the pipeline

Travel is typically required 20% to 50% of the time, with occasional overnight trips. The pay range for Connecticut residents is $75,000 to $85,000.
