Measure Technician (In-Home Advisor)

About the role

The Measure Technician (In-Home Advisor) works independently in a traveling field role supporting The Home Depot's Field Services Organization. The associate performs in-home measurement appointments, supports sales, product inquiries and installation coordination, and provides accurate measurements, calculations and quote reviews. The position reports directly to the Assistant Market Manager and involves travel between locations.

Key responsibilities

• Complete daily routes for pre-assigned measure appointments as efficiently and accurately as possible (about 60% of time).
• Ask customers open-ended questions about their projects and product needs, describe product features and project steps, and identify opportunities to engage customers in other services programs (about 35% of time).
• Cooperate with associates, supervisors and managers on other work activities (about 4%).
• Follow policies and procedures and adhere to the work schedule (about 1%).
• Work with company-issued devices and focus on customer service, measure accuracy and timeliness, and sales productivity.

Required profile

• Age 18 or older and legally permitted to work in the United States.
• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of previous related work experience.
• Reliable transportation; travel between locations required.
• Physical ability to stand, walk and lift or carry material of moderate weight (8-20 pounds); conditions are indoors and may cause mild discomfort occasionally.
