Operating Room Scrub Technician

About the role

Jupiter Medical Center, ranked #1 for safety, quality and patient satisfaction in Palm Beach County, is hiring a full-time Operating Room Scrub Technician. The scrub tech performs scrub duties throughout the surgical procedure under the direction of the Registered Nurse, helping maintain the surgeon's preferences for the assigned specialty and supporting patient care and physician satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scrub duties throughout the surgical procedure under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
• Assist the RN in maintaining the surgeon's preferences for listed surgical procedures of the assigned specialty.
• Stay current with new procedures and help other team members with instrumentation and equipment specific to the specialty.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Successful completion of surgical technician training courses in an academic or military setting.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers.
• One year of experience as a Surgical Technician.
• Ability to lift and move patients and heavy equipment, including pushing or pulling up to 40 lbs and carrying or lifting up to 50 lbs; the job involves long periods of standing, sitting, stooping and walking.

Threshold requirements include annual Joint Commission mandatory education, in-service and health requirements, TB/PPD surveillance program participation, and maintenance of required professional licenses and certifications.
