Operating Room Lead Radiologic Technologist

About the role

Jupiter Medical Center, ranked #1 for safety, quality and patient satisfaction, is hiring a full-time Operating Room Lead Radiologic Technologist. The OR lead coordinates with OR staff and monitors scheduled imaging cases, carries a department phone or vocera, and integrates back into department workflow when there are no cases.

Key responsibilities

• Inform the department supervisor or charge technologist how many technologists are needed to cover the OR.
• Assign technologists to cases and perform cases yourself.
• Facilitate the movement of equipment to the right place for current and future cases.
• Report all equipment service calls or failures to the supervisor.
• Look ahead at the schedule and attend the daily OR huddle when possible.
• When no cases are scheduled or all are finished, join the department workflow to help.
• Stay proficient in general radiology exams and x-rays and perform other duties assigned.

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent; graduate of a Diagnostic Imaging accredited program or equivalent.
• 2 years of experience; lead experience preferred.
• Certificate or registry of a Diagnostic Imaging accredited program.
• Florida State Licensure as a Certified Radiologic Technologist and ARRT certification.
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in general radiology exams and x-rays.
• Ability to sit, stand and walk for long periods, lift at least 40 lbs, and move patients by wheelchair and stretcher.
• Ability to perform CPR and patient assessment.
• Annual Joint Commission mandatory education, in-service and health requirements, including TB/PPD and surveillance program.
