Occupational Therapist – Outpatient

About the role

The Occupational Therapist works autonomously in the Ochsner Neuroscience Institute outpatient setting, delivering evaluation, treatment planning, and therapy to patients referred or seeking direct care. The role focuses on meeting patient needs, improving experience, and supporting quality metrics while contributing to program development.

Key responsibilities

• Perform patient evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans, and monitor progress toward goals.
• Maintain accurate patient records and achieve productivity targets related to access, experience, and quality.
• Assist in program development and enhancement to address community and patient needs.
• Adapt communication and service delivery to respect patient privacy and preferences.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy.
• Current occupational therapy license in the state of practice or eligibility for licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
