Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant – Palliative Medicine (Full‑Time)

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking dedicated advanced practice providers to join a collaborative palliative medicine team. You will work under the supervision of the Medical Director and alongside residents, fellows, attendings, and staff to deliver high‑quality outpatient care.

Key responsibilities

• Utilize approved medical practice processes to deliver comprehensive patient care.
• Provide care addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs of patients.
• Educate patients, families, staff, and the community on health topics.
• Adapt communication style to respect patient privacy and cultural preferences.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and accreditation standards.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in nursing or a Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant studies (or graduate of an approved PA program).
• Current APRN license in the state and PA license with NCCPA certification.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Proficiency with computer systems, Windows‑style applications, and data entry/retrieval.

Required skills

• Computer skills for electronic health record documentation.
• Windows operating system and related software proficiency.
• BCLS and ACLS certification for emergency response.
