Night RN – Med‑Surg/Telemetry

About the role

The Night RN provides direct patient care on a Med‑Surg/Telemetry unit at Ochsner Baptist. The role involves using the nursing process, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and ensuring high‑quality outcomes for diverse patient populations.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using the nursing process.
• Delegate, direct, and assist licensed and ancillary team members while maintaining accountability for patient outcomes.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team, adapting communication to cultural and religious needs.
• Utilize data and evidence‑based practice to promote optimal clinical outcomes.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Current RN license in the state of practice and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to work night shifts and perform physically demanding tasks.
