Neurohospitalist - 7 Days On, 7 Days Off

About the role

Jupiter Medical Center, ranked #1 for safety, quality and patient satisfaction in Palm Beach County, is hiring a neurohospitalist on a 7 days on / 7 days off schedule. The role suits a physician who wants to provide compassionate, patient-centered care, seeing patients in the office and doing hospital rounds.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain timely, accurate and detailed medical records using E Clinical Works (ECW), the center's office-based EMR
• Prescribe medication or therapy when necessary and recommend lifestyle changes to improve quality of life
• Explain medical procedures and test results thoroughly, and give patients a plan of care
• Consult with other doctors about each patient's needs and participate in tumor boards and multi-disciplinary clinics
• Serve on the hospital Medical Staff and related committees when requested
• Work to improve patient satisfaction scores and team goals, and take part in business development and marketing

Required profile

• MD or DO, board certified or board eligible in Neurology
• New graduates or experienced physicians will both be considered
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes physically demanding environment, lifting and moving patients and equipment (up to 40 lbs pushing/pulling, 50 lbs carrying/lifting)
• Understanding of the physician practice environment and excellent communication skills

Required skills

• Knowledge of computer systems such as ECW and Cerner
• Annual Joint Commission mandatory education, in-service and health requirements, TB/PPD surveillance program, and maintenance of professional license and certification
