Millwork Shop Manager

About the role

Our client is a high‑end custom millwork operation in Long Island City, producing luxury‑grade millwork for prestigious residential projects. They are seeking an experienced Millwork Shop Manager to own all shop operations, from workflow and scheduling to quality control, estimating, procurement, and site coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily shop operations, including workflow sequencing, production scheduling, quality control, and safety compliance.
• Review and approve shop drawings, conduct site measurements, and resolve field discrepancies before fabrication.
• Prepare detailed estimates and material take‑offs, and procure wood species, hardware, finishes, and accessories within budget.
• Coordinate delivery and on‑site installation, maintaining project timelines and communicating with superintendents, architects, clients, and vendors.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing a residential or commercial millwork shop, preferably in luxury or high‑end interior markets.
• Strong knowledge of wood species, hardware, finishes, and fabrication techniques.
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills with the ability to handle multiple concurrent projects.
• Effective communicator with clients, architects, vendors, and project teams.

Required skills

• AutoCAD 2023 (drafting and drawing review)
• Procore or comparable project management platforms (advantageous)
