Metrology Engineer – Dimensional Inspection & Tooling

About the role

The Metrology Engineer at Saronic Technologies will develop and maintain dimensional inspection programs that support production and act as the Tooling Engineer responsible for engineered tooling and fixtures throughout their lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and maintain dimensional inspection programs using CMM, 3D scanning, and related metrology systems.
• Create and optimize inspection routines from CAD models, engineering drawings, and GD&T requirements.
• Support the Lead Metrology Inspector and inspection team with production‑ready programs and measurement methods.
• Fulfill special measurement requests from Engineering and R&D, including prototype and first‑off studies.
• Perform measurement system analysis (MSA/Gage R&R) and drive improvements in measurement uncertainty and repeatability.
• Analyze measurement data, generate inspection reports, and communicate dimensional deviations.
• Track and maintain tooling and fixture inventory, ensuring configuration control and periodic verification.
• Manage controlled release of engineered tooling and fixtures to production with complete validation documentation.
• Coordinate design, procurement, build, and rework of tooling with Engineering, R&D, and suppliers.

Required profile

• Strong metrology and programming expertise.
• Sound engineering judgment and disciplined configuration management of tooling assets.
• Ability to collaborate cross‑functionally with Quality, Engineering, R&D, and Production teams.
