About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Materials Project Management V (B5) professional to lead material strategy and supply chain activities for semiconductor and display equipment manufacturing in Austin, TX.

Key responsibilities

• Forecast and communicate engineering, materials, and manufacturing requirements to suppliers and coordinate demand signals through MRP.
• Lead the Materials Core Team, managing product development deliverables via matrix management of buyers, planners, and production control.
• Perform make‑versus‑buy analysis, source selection, price negotiations, and supplier risk assessments.
• Manage materials change control, cost objectives, and quality issue resolution, generating key process indicators and tracking landed cost targets.
• Collaborate with engineering to identify critical and long‑lead parts and develop supplier and commodity roadmaps.

Required profile

• Technical expert in materials project management with deep knowledge of engineering, supply chain, and quality disciplines.
• Ability to anticipate business and regulatory issues and recommend process improvements.
• Proven leadership in complex, high‑risk projects and strategic execution.
• Strong problem‑solving skills to develop innovative solutions with broad business impact.
