Mental Health Technician

About the role

The Cascade Evaluation and Treatment Center is seeking a Mental Health Technician to join its inpatient team. You will support clients experiencing acute psychiatric crises by providing structure, safety, and therapeutic care during night shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic interventions, case management, and coordination assistance for admitted clients.
• Assist in delivering direct client care in line with treatment plans under the direction of a professional nurse.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and support the Crisis Stabilization Unit as needed.
• Complete required documentation, reports, and records in accordance with agency policies.
• Participate in supervision, training, and other activities directed by program managers.

Required profile

• Washington State Registered Agency Affiliated Counselor (RAAC) credential or eligibility to obtain it.
• Pass Washington State Patrol background check (national check may be required).
• Ability to meet physical demands, including protective holds and rapid response to aggressive behavior.
• Compliance with agency policies and maintenance of current contact information.

Required skills

• Completion of MOAB (Management of Aggressive Behavior) training.
• Ability to perform physical interventions such as protective holds, blocking, and redirecting patient movements.

What we offer

• Hourly pay $19.72‑$24.04 (DOE) with $2/hour shift differential for swing/NOC shifts and weekend/holiday work.
• Eligibility for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program.
