Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN – Day Shift

About the role

The Medical‑Surgical Telemetry RN provides direct patient care on the day shift at Ochsner Baptist, applying the nursing process within the Nurse Practice Act and ANA standards. This position leads a multidisciplinary team to achieve high‑quality outcomes and supports the organization’s mission of service, healing, education, and innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to deliver safe, evidence‑based patient care.
• Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies for patients, families, and interdisciplinary groups.
• Delegate, direct, and assist licensed and ancillary team members while managing resources.
• Use data and clinical knowledge to drive change and improve patient outcomes.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and accreditation standards.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• No prior work experience required.
