Medical Assistant – Orthopedic Surgery Spine Clinic (Full Time)

About the role

This position provides individualized medical care to assigned patients in person, electronically, and via telephone under the supervision of a licensed health care provider. The Medical Assistant supports patients and providers throughout the visit, ensuring preparation, answering questions, and handling documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Support the patient and provider throughout the patient visit.
• Prepare the patient and provider for the appointment and ensure the exam room is ready for the next patient.
• Answer patient questions before they leave and provide excellent patient service both over the phone and in person.
• Complete appropriate documentation, including patient registration when necessary.
• Maintain required clinical knowledge, technical skills, training, and credentials through professional development.
• Handle other duties as assigned efficiently and adapt behavior to the specific patient population.

Required profile

• High School diploma or equivalent; completion of a formal Medical Assistant training program preferred.
• Experience handling confidential information in a fast‑paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Windows‑style applications and computer data entry.
• Strong computer dexterity for retrieving and documenting patient information.
