Medical Assistant - Electrophysiology

About the role

Jupiter Medical Center, ranked #1 for safety, quality and patient satisfaction, is hiring a full-time Physician Medical Assistant for its electrophysiology practice. The Medical Assistant is a multi-skilled specialist who assists the physician in all aspects of the practice under the physician's direct responsibility, handling both patient care and administrative procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Take vital signs and EKGs
• Prepare patients for examination
• Enter lab and imaging orders and collect and prepare laboratory specimens
• Update patient medical records and answer phones
• Schedule appointments, remove sutures and dressings, and transmit prescription refills
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program, or three years of experience in a medical office if not a graduate
• American Heart Association BLS certification for healthcare providers required; Medical Assistant certification preferred
• Experience in medical assisting and knowledge of outpatient medicine, patient care, examinations, diagnostic and treatment room procedures, and common safety hazards
• Ability to lift and move up to 40 lbs and carry up to 50 lbs, and to work in a stressful environment
