Media Editor, Custom

About the role

The Media Editor, Custom will own end‑to‑end delivery of media components for custom digital learning products, ensuring they enhance the learning experience and meet editorial and business standards. This role works independently, collaborates with editors, vendors, and sales, and drives continuous improvement through new tools and automation.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and manage delivery of media components for assigned custom courseware products.
• Create and maintain Jira tickets, track dependencies, anticipate risks, and ensure timely progress.
• Oversee quality assurance, launch, and lifecycle management of media products.
• Hire, onboard, and manage contractors, freelancers, and vendors.
• Develop and refine workflows, incorporate AI or automation, and train colleagues on process changes.
• Serve as technical and courseware expert, translating customer requests into viable solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree with 3+ years editorial experience in educational publishing.
• At least 1 year of media editorial experience or equivalent digital learning product work.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for diverse stakeholders.
• Proven project management ability to handle multiple concurrent projects.

Required skills

• Jira and agile workflow familiarity.
• Experience with AI and automation tools applied to content creation.
• Knowledge of assessment authoring, taxonomies, metadata, and pedagogical design.
