Mechanical Engineer (Mid-Career)

About the role

The Dematic Lifecycle Solutions and Services – Modernizations and Upgrades team is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead and execute mechanical engineering scopes for Amazon modernization and retrofit projects. You will work on short‑duration projects, collaborating closely with customers and internal experts to deliver high‑quality material handling solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Own and execute mechanical engineering scope for assigned Amazon modernization/retrofit projects, ensuring quality, on‑time delivery and cost targets.
• Maintain up‑to‑date project logs, report portfolio performance, and provide short‑term monthly forecasts.
• Design complex systems that integrate hardware and software, prepare material specifications and schematics, and recommend productivity improvements.
• Perform technical interchange and knowledge transfer, resolve complex problems, and manage project schedule and budget for mechanical functions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with at least 5 years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Strong background in material handling/automation industry and project‑based design to installation.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with ability to work under pressure and interact with customers.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% to customer or Dematic locations.

Required skills

• Proficiency in CET Configura and AutoCAD (highly preferred).
• Familiarity with Amazon DC installation types (ARS, IXD, SSD, Air Hub, non‑sort) and Amazon‑specific MTBH rates and subsystem designs.
• Experience with material handling system design, specification, and integration.
