About the role

As a Mechanical Engineer at Reflect Orbital, you will rapidly design, prototype, and flight‑validate spacecraft subcomponents, integrating mechanical systems under tight deadlines. Your primary goal is to deliver functional hardware that balances simplicity, rigor, and ingenuity.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver flight‑ready critical spacecraft components.
  • Take hardware and mechanisms from conceptual design through qualification to on‑orbit operations.
  • Correlate analysis of components to ensure reliability in the space environment.

Required profile

  • 4–6 years of mechanical design experience, preferably on flight hardware or high‑reliability systems.
  • Ownership of spacecraft components from clean‑sheet design to spaceflight.
  • Strong collaborative experience designing complex, interdependent systems.

Required skills

  • Extensive CAD experience.
  • Deep knowledge of bolted joint design and machine‑shop tolerances.
