Mechanical Engineer – Infrastructure

About the role

Saronic Technologies is seeking an experienced, licensed Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of the mechanical infrastructure that powers its advanced maritime operations. This senior position offers full ownership of HVAC, plumbing, process utilities, and piping standards across the entire capital‑project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain company‑wide standards for HVAC, plumbing, process utilities, and mechanical piping systems.
• Participate in early programming, scope definition, and documentation of mechanical requirements for capital projects.
• Prepare and issue RFPs and qualification packages for third‑party engineers, architects, and contractors.
• Review third‑party mechanical designs, providing subject‑matter expertise and direction to internal and external teams.
• Produce design calculations, equipment sizing, and documentation for small‑scale projects.
• Conduct field visits during construction to represent the owner, oversee installation, and verify commissioning activities.
• Manage design aspects of small capital projects as needed.
• Travel up to 10% of the time for project‑specific site visits.

Required profile

• Professional Engineer (PE) license with a strong industrial background.
• Proven experience in complex mechanical systems within manufacturing or industrial settings.
• Familiarity with specialty exhaust systems and emissions‑abatement solutions.
• Ability to interpret and apply ASHRAE, IMC, IPC, and NFPA codes.
• Hands‑on experience across the full capital‑project lifecycle, from concept to commissioning.
