Mechanical Engineer – Industrial Design & Piping

About the role

The Mechanical Engineer/Designer will develop and execute mechanical and piping designs for large industrial facilities, supporting projects from concept through construction and commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Develop mechanical design packages, including equipment layouts, general arrangements, and detailed drawings.
• Perform mechanical calculations such as equipment sizing, stress analysis, and load evaluations.
• Specify and design process and utility equipment like pumps, tanks, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, fans, and compressors.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (process, structural, electrical, controls) to ensure constructability and system alignment.
• Provide field support during construction and startup, including inspection, troubleshooting, and as‑built documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical degree.
• 5–30+ years of experience in mechanical engineering/design for heavy industrial projects, preferably EPC.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling and design tools (AutoCAD, Plant 3D, CADWorx, SmartPlant 3D, SolidWorks).
• Strong understanding of rotating and static equipment, material selection, and fabrication methods.
• Knowledge of industry codes and standards (ASME, API, ANSI, NFPA, OSHA).
