About the role
The Lifecycle Support Services Modernizations and Upgrades (LSSMU) team is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support material handling system projects for a strategic Dematic client. This early‑career position involves hands‑on design, site audits, and on‑site commissioning across multiple short‑duration projects.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and complete mechanical engineering scope for material handling systems, including design of semi‑complex systems that integrate hardware, controls, and software.
- Perform site audits, support equipment purchase processes, and assist with on‑site installation and commissioning.
- Collaborate with team members and customers to troubleshoot equipment, report project performance, and recommend efficiency improvements.
Required profile
- BS/BA in Mechanical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 0‑5 years of experience in material handling or mechanical engineering.
- Strong verbal and written communication, ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Required skills
- Proficient in CAD design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or NX.
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite – Word, Excel, Teams.
