Mechanical CAE Engineering Manager

About the role

tti is looking for a Mechanical CAE Engineering Manager in Anderson. The manager leads a team of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineers who simulate, design and develop new and mature products, and coordinates with engineering, product marketing and industrial design teams.

Key responsibilities

• Assess design options and define a path balancing performance, quality and cost.
• Meet with direct reports regularly to guide them technically, set priorities and deadlines, and provide training and career development.
• Set goals and objectives for each engineer with regular reviews and performance appraisals.
• Serve as subject matter expert in simulation, prediction and measurement of structural, dynamic, aerodynamic, acoustic and vibrational performance of consumer power tools.
• Serve as subject matter expert in reduced order plant models (ROM) to predict system performance using MATLAB, Simscape, Python or similar.
• Support new product development and the Advanced Engineering team in R&D of new-to-market products.
• Research and implement multi-physics simulation techniques such as conjugate heat transfer, spray atomization, aeroacoustics, multi-body dynamics, topology optimization, SPH, SPG and DEM.
• Manage the annual budget, including software licensing fees and contract negotiations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering or a related field, with 8+ years of relevant professional experience.
• At least 2 years of experience managing one or more direct reports.
• Experience in empirical testing, setup and measurement, with knowledge of data acquisition best practices and signal processing.

Required skills

• Finite Element Analysis or Computational Fluid Dynamics simulation (ANSYS preferred).
• CAD modeling (NX, SolidWorks or other commercial code).
• Computational languages such as MATLAB, Simscape, Simulink or Python.
• Multi-physics simulation and system modeling experience.

The position is on-site, and international and domestic travel is not required.
