Market Investigator

About the role

The Market Investigator supports R+L Carriers by using software tools, data analysis, and investigative techniques to identify, resolve, and prevent freight exceptions and losses. This full‑time position works closely with management and multiple business departments to ensure consistent, professional communication and continuous improvement of processes.

Key responsibilities

• Utilize investigative software and data analysis to detect freight exceptions, losses, and security incidents.
• Conduct audits to verify compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to all levels of management.
• Identify opportunities for procedural improvements and best‑practice adoption.
• Assist in refining incident response processes to reduce response times and enhance analysis.
• Provide occasional travel for on‑site investigations and audits.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; senior‑level investigation experience preferred.
• 3+ years in security, loss prevention, or investigative roles.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with all management levels.
• Self‑starter capable of prioritizing, multitasking, and working independently.
• Ability to identify critical issues and propose workable resolutions.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Windows operating system.
• Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Familiarity with VMS, access‑control systems, and case‑management platforms.
