About the role
As a Freelance Specialist in Serious Injury & Fatality (SIF) prevention, you will join dss+ to deliver high‑impact safety programmes for asset‑intensive clients. You will work autonomously, embed quickly into client teams and drive measurable risk reduction.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and deliver SIF prevention programmes using dss+ methodologies to improve safety performance.
- Engage stakeholders at all levels, from executives to frontline teams, to identify critical SIF risks and improvement opportunities.
- Design and implement processes that control and mitigate SIF risks, including Life‑Saving Rules and corrective actions.
- Facilitate assessments, workshops and interventions across operational risk and safety programmes.
- Contribute to wider transformation programmes as part of multidisciplinary dss+ teams.
- Support the development and refinement of SIF methodologies, tools and assets.
Required profile
- 10+ years of experience in safety, operational risk or EHS, with at least 5 years focused on SIF prevention programmes.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders across all organisational levels and deliver safety transformation initiatives.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving and coaching skills, able to operate independently in complex, international environments.
- Willingness to travel globally (approximately 60–70%) and work on freelance/contract assignments.
- Degree in Safety, Engineering, Risk Management or related discipline; professional certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH) are advantageous.
