Senior/Staff Security Engineer, Detection & Response

About the role
Anthropic is building safe, reliable AI systems and needs a senior security engineer to lead detection and response efforts across its technology stack. You will shape the team’s capabilities from the ground up and collaborate closely with security, research, and engineering groups.
Key responsibilities
- Lead incident response for external attacks, insider threats, and other security events across all layers of Anthropic’s infrastructure.
- Design, build, and deploy detection tooling, including solutions that leverage large language models.
- Create and fine‑tune detections, playbooks, and automated workflows to accelerate response.
- Analyze incident metrics, refine procedures, and drive continuous improvement.
- Participate in an on‑call rotation and work closely with security and engineering teams.
Required profile
- Proven experience handling security incidents and investigating anomalies in a team setting.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, able to lead projects with minimal guidance.
- Ability to quickly learn new languages, tools, and technologies.
Required skills
- Working knowledge of EDR, SIEM, SOAR or similar security tooling.
- Solid understanding of cloud environments and SaaS operations.
- Proficiency in Python scripting and SQL query languages.
