Manufacturing Engineer - VSL2

About the role

The Manufacturing Engineer will support the Value Stream by installing, growing, and operating new and existing manufacturing equipment at Bosch's Lincolnton Conversion, Customizing and Packaging Center. The role focuses on safety, quality, delivery, cost, continuous improvement and Industry 4.0 initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement projects to meet Value Stream targets in safety, quality, delivery, cost, CIP, BPS and i4.0.
• Create specifications and designs for machines, coordinate procurement with suppliers and purchasing.
• Set up and support preventive maintenance processes for equipment.
• Document processes, lead FMEAs, and produce training materials and work instructions.
• Monitor real‑time operations, resolve process interruptions, and support technicians.
• Lead quality, cost‑reduction and efficiency improvement projects using lean tools.

Required profile

• BS degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or 8 + years relevant experience.
• Strong teamwork, self‑initiative and ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
• Effective root‑cause analysis, problem‑solving and lean manufacturing experience.
• Willingness to travel nationally and internationally for training and supplier visits.

Required skills

• Mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge.
• Machinery procurement and specification development.
• Lean manufacturing principles, BPS, 5S, CIP.
• FMEA, Shainin, 8D problem‑resolution methods.
• Robotics, drives, controls and electro‑mechanical experience.
• Familiarity with Bosch Rexroth Controls and Drives, painting, printing and packaging technology.
