Manufacturing Engineer – Composites

About the role

We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer specialized in composites to develop and optimise manufacturing processes for autonomous surface vessels. The role combines hands‑on production work with continuous‑improvement initiatives in a fast‑paced marine environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and optimise fiberglass composite manufacturing processes.
• Troubleshoot production issues, improve quality and reduce waste.
• Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure manufacturability of composite parts.
• Create and maintain process documentation, work instructions and quality standards.
• Lead lean manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives to boost efficiency and throughput.
• Support tooling design, maintenance and optimisation for composite production.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations for composite handling.
• Provide training and technical guidance to production staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials Science or equivalent experience.
• Professional experience in composite (preferably fiberglass) manufacturing, ideally in marine, aerospace or automotive sectors.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and translate designs into manufacturing processes.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and willingness to work hands‑on on the shop floor.
• Excellent communication and teamwork across cross‑functional groups.
