Manager Nursing and Patient Care Services – Emergency Department

About the role

The Manager Nursing and Patient Care Services provides operational leadership for the Emergency Department at Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest, ensuring safe, high‑quality patient care and effective unit performance.

Key responsibilities

• Directly supervise frontline staff, manage daily staffing, scheduling, and patient care operations.
• Implement organizational policies, monitor quality, safety, patient experience, and workforce engagement metrics.
• Manage unit‑level budget performance and resource utilization within financial targets.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards.
• Coach and develop staff to support professional growth, competency, and retention.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar unit.
• Current RN license in the state of practice (PA or NJ).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.

Required skills

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification as required by the unit.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification as required by the unit.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lb and perform physical tasks such as kneeling, bending, and CPR.
