Manager, IT Engineering & Infrastructure (AI&T)

About the role

The Manager, IT Engineering & Infrastructure (AI&T) at Impulse is responsible for leading the design, implementation and operation of infrastructure platforms that support integration, test and engineering environments. The role owns the technical backbone of AI&T systems, including lab infrastructure, test networks, compute platforms and supporting services needed for reliable, repeatable test operations. It reports into the IT organization with functional alignment to the AI&T (Assembly, Integration and Test) team.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute infrastructure strategy for integration, test and engineering environments
• Oversee architecture and lifecycle management of networks, compute, storage, cloud and lab infrastructure
• Ensure high availability, scalability, reliability and time-synchronized operations across test systems
• Lead and develop systems and network engineering teams, setting technical standards and best practices
• Manage infrastructure for test facilities, lab environments, structured cabling and real-time data systems
• Coordinate test stand deployments, facility upgrades and infrastructure readiness for integration and test activities
• Lead automation, infrastructure-as-code and platform engineering initiatives
• Establish monitoring, observability, incident response and root cause analysis practices
• Ensure compliance with enterprise security, zero-trust architecture, regulatory requirements and secure data management

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering or related fields
• 2+ years of leadership or team management experience
• Experience leading technical teams supporting complex infrastructure environments
• Proven ability to deliver scalable, reliable infrastructure solutions
• Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills

Required skills

• Strong background in networking, systems and platform engineering
• Experience designing and operating infrastructure in lab, test or engineering environments
• Preferred: 4+ years leading technical teams, aerospace, manufacturing or test environment experience, deterministic or time-sensitive systems, infrastructure automation and platform engineering, regulated or compliance-driven environments

Onsite leadership is expected, with accountability for infrastructure readiness during test campaigns and participation in critical incident response and major operational events. The stated pay is $155,000-$180,000 per year, with possible long-term incentives, medical, vision and dental coverage and a 401(k) plan for full-time hires. Applicants must be U.S. persons or eligible to obtain an export license due to ITAR and EAR regulations.
