Enterprise Software Engineering Intern (Summer 2027)

About the role

Impulse Space is hiring an Enterprise Software Engineering Intern for its Enterprise Operations Software team, working on the spacecraft manufacturing and business operations side. The internship runs 12 weeks from May/June through August/September 2027 and suits students in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field. It is onsite in Redondo Beach, CA, and may involve overtime hours.

Key responsibilities

• Help design, develop and maintain internal web applications and APIs with Python, FastAPI, Node.js and React.
• Build, optimize and monitor data pipelines and integrations using Airbyte, PostgreSQL and AWS Redshift.
• Integrate core business platforms such as ERP, MES and supply chain systems used in spacecraft manufacturing.
• Write clean, documented code, take part in code reviews and agile workflows.
• Support deployment, configuration and monitoring of cloud infrastructure and stateless apps in AWS.
• Troubleshoot software issues and data anomalies, implementing scalable fixes under the mentorship of senior engineers.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or a related technical field.
• Foundational programming experience in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Academic or project experience building web applications or RESTful APIs (e.g. FastAPI or Node.js).
• Familiarity with relational databases and SQL (e.g. PostgreSQL).
• Willingness to learn new enterprise technologies, strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, protected individual status or eligibility for the required authorizations under ITAR.
