Mammography Technologist I

About the role

The Mammography Technologist I performs breast imaging exams, including screening and diagnostic mammography, and ensures equipment quality and patient safety within Lehigh Valley Health Network.

Key responsibilities

• Perform mammographic imaging following ACR positioning guidelines and evaluate technical quality of images.
• Conduct quality control on mammography equipment and diagnostic workstations.
• Confirm patient identification, review imaging requests, and provide patient education.
• Maintain compliance with MQSA, FDA, and ACR standards and assist with performance improvement initiatives.
• Support clerical duties such as appointment scheduling and assist with error monitoring and equipment maintenance.

Required profile

• Specialized Diploma from an AMA‑approved Radiologic Technology program.
• Less than 1 year of experience in screening and diagnostic mammography (or associate’s degree with 1 year experience).
• Ability to adapt to changing healthcare environments and solve problems.
• Flexibility to work varied hours and locations as needed.

Required skills

• Certification: RT (Registered Technologist Radiology) upon hire.
• Certification: CMT (Certified Mammography Technologist) upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 60 days of hire.
• Experience with full‑field digital mammography and/or 3D mammographic imaging.
