Major Gifts Manager

About the role

Jupiter Medical Center, ranked #1 for safety, quality and patient satisfaction in Palm Beach County, is hiring a Major Gifts Manager who reports to the Director of Major Gifts and works with the Philanthropy Team. The role runs a comprehensive solicitation program for private monetary contributions, including major and principal gifts, the grateful patient program, corporate sponsorships, capital and endowment campaigns, and supports the center's $500 million campaign.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, cultivate and solicit prospective benefactors and connect them to the Medical Center, acting as primary contact for assigned prospects
• Build and manage a portfolio of 150+ gift prospects, make opportunities that serve both donor and center interests, and make at least 120 face-to-face visits per year with assigned prospects
• Travel regionally to identify, cultivate and steward individual donors
• Contribute to planning high-level cultivation and stewardship events
• Use the Raiser's Edge database and prospect tracking system to assess prospects and forecast potential revenue
• Write well-written, accurate letters, proposals and reports on time, and communicate the center's goals to donors, the business community and the public
• Represent the Jupiter Medical Center Foundation on community committees and serve on hospital and Patient Care Services committees as requested
• Act as a key member of the foundation, establish collegial working relationships with management, and enforce hospital and personnel policies

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Minimum 3 years of nonprofit experience, including donor, community and/or corporate cultivation and solicitation
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a large medical institution and to handle confidential information with discretion
• Strategic planning, project management and organizational skills, with strong written communication and presentation skills
