Maintenance Technician – The Metlo

About the role

The Metlo property in Boston is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure that all building systems, grounds, and common areas meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, safety, and functionality. The role involves responding to resident service requests, performing preventative maintenance, and preparing vacant units for new occupants.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders generated from resident requests and conduct preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues and repairing according to company policies, safety standards, and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant apartments, including pre‑move‑out inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, supply procurement, maintenance tasks, and final inspections.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment by tracking usage, returning unused items, and notifying the supervisor of re‑order needs.
• Document service requests accurately and promptly to ensure proper tracking and record‑keeping.
• Maintain grounds and common areas by removing trash, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, performing general cleaning, and painting curbs or signage as required.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing parts when feasible and using materials and tools efficiently.
• Participate in safety and risk‑management meetings and adhere to Greystar’s safety policies.

Required profile

• Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical or technical issues in residential settings.
• Experience with make‑ready procedures and coordinating vendor services.
• Strong organizational skills for inventory management and documentation.
• Commitment to safety practices and willingness to attend regular safety meetings.
• Physical ability to perform cleaning, pressure‑washing, and minor painting tasks.
