Maintenance Technician – Montgomery, AL

About the role

The Maintenance Technician ensures that the physical aspects of the property—including buildings, grounds, amenities, and common areas—meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, safety, and functionality. This full‑time, onsite position supports both day‑to‑day operations and lease‑up activities.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders from resident requests and perform preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues and repairing according to policies, safety standards, and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant units, including inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, and final quality checks.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment, tracking usage and notifying supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Document service requests accurately and maintain timely paperwork for tracking.
• Assist with grounds and common‑area upkeep such as trash removal, pressure‑washing, general cleaning, and painting of curbs and signage.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts whenever possible.

Required profile

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on‑call rotations.
• Valid driver’s license for operating a golf cart on the property when required.

Required skills

• EPA Type I refrigerant certification
• EPA Type II refrigerant certification
• EPA Universal refrigerant certification
