Maintenance Technician – Colonnade

About the role

The Maintenance Technician supports the physical upkeep of a stabilized mid‑rise property, ensuring buildings, grounds, and common areas meet Greystar’s standards for safety, appearance, and functionality. This entry‑level position works a Tuesday‑Saturday schedule with rotating on‑call duties.

Key responsibilities

• Complete resident work orders and preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues and performing repairs in line with safety codes and company policies.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant units, including inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, and final quality checks.
• Maintain inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment, tracking usage and notifying supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Assist with grounds and amenity upkeep such as trash removal, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, and painting curbs and signage.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts whenever possible.

Required profile

• Entry‑level candidate with strong customer service orientation and general handyman abilities.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders and lift up to 25 lb independently (50 lb with assistance) in all weather conditions.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays for on‑call rotations.

Required skills

• EPA Type 1 and Type 2 or Universal refrigerant recycling certification.
• All state and local certifications required for service technicians.
• Valid driver’s license (required to operate a golf cart on larger properties).
