Groundskeeper/Porter – San Jose

About the role

The Groundskeeper/Porter ensures the community’s grounds, amenities and overall curb appeal are maintained to Greystar’s standards while supporting the service team.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect common areas throughout the day, removing litter, debris and pet droppings.
• Clear trash from vacant apartments, transport it to dumpsters, and keep storage areas tidy.
• Perform minor service requests and assist the make‑ready specialist during unit turn‑over.
• Change locks per policy and verify pool‑gate safety compliance.
• Distribute resident notices and report hazards to supervisors.
• Provide courteous customer service, answer resident questions and address maintenance complaints.
• Follow safety and risk‑management policies, attend OSHA training and report incidents promptly.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s license to operate a golf cart on the property.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders and lift up to 25 lb independently (50 lb with assistance).
• Comfort working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays, with on‑call availability.
