Maintenance Supervisor – Downtown Brooklyn

About the role

The Maintenance Supervisor ensures that all building systems, grounds, amenities and common areas meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, safety and functionality. This full‑time, onsite position supports residents and the community by handling service requests, overseeing make‑ready processes and coordinating with vendors.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve resident service requests, completing work orders in line with safety codes and company policies.
• Manage the make‑ready process for vacant units, including inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor scheduling and final quality checks.
• Develop and enforce standards for the appearance of grounds, building exteriors, parking areas and common spaces.
• Inspect work performed by team members, contractors and vendors to ensure compliance with quality and scope requirements.
• Maintain inventory of spare parts, order supplies within budget, and execute monthly preventative maintenance tasks.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with experience in property or building maintenance.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools and mechanical equipment safely and effectively.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and clear communication with residents and team members.
• Valid driver’s license for operating a golf cart on the property, if needed.

Required skills

• EPA Type I and II (or Universal) certification for HVAC work.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools and measuring devices.
• Experience with property‑management software (preferred).
• Basic computer skills: internet, word processing, spreadsheets and database management.
