Maintenance Service Professional

About the role

The Home Depot is hiring a Maintenance Service Professional in Toms River, NJ, to provide commercial and industrial minor equipment repair and preventive maintenance in big box retailers and other facilities. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 7am-3:30pm, and candidates must live within 15 miles of Toms River. The technician works from various locations within a reasonable radius of home and drives a company vehicle.

Key responsibilities

• Document all work performed on equipment using the company platform, including labor and parts, and maintain parts inventory
• File expense reports and complete tech stock replenishment for the company vehicle
• Communicate proactively with business partners and customers about service requests and needs
• Perform preventive maintenance and light repairs on equipment such as paint shakers, mobility carts, power stocker lifts, dock plates, pipe threaders, ladders, saws, compactors and carts, including light electrical, plumbing and carpentry
• Respond to on-site service calls and travel between stores, sometimes overnight
• Follow safety rules, complete pre- and post-vehicle inspections and drive according to company standards

Required profile

• Age 18 or older and legally permitted to work in the United States
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record; typically 5-20% overnight travel
• Willingness to obtain EPA 608 certification and remove refrigerant for recycling
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs, climb equipment and work at heights up to 20 feet
• Close, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
• Preferred: 2 years of relevant experience such as general building maintenance, basic electrical experience, reading schematics and parts lists

Required skills

• Basic mechanical aptitude
• Medium proficiency with tablets, smartphones and laptops
• Microsoft Office Suite preferred

Pay range: $25.00 - $27.00.
