About the role

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct patient care, including IV therapy, under the direction of a registered nurse. This day‑shift position works in medical‑surgical, telemetry, and step‑down units within Ochsner Health.

Key responsibilities

Deliver patient care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Perform IV therapy and other clinical tasks as required.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members and assist ancillary nursing staff.
Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to regulatory standards.

Required profile

Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of practice.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

IV therapy competency (preferred).
Basic Life Support (BLS) skills.
Time management and organizational abilities.
