Long-Term Spanish Substitute Teacher (Middle School)

About the role

Valley Catholic Middle School is seeking a qualified educator to serve as a long‑term substitute Spanish teacher for four 7th‑grade sections during a planned faculty leave. The assignment runs from August 24 to October 9 2026, covering approximately 180 hours of instruction.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the established 7th‑grade Spanish curriculum and follow existing lesson plans.
• Maintain continuity of instruction and classroom management throughout the leave period.
• Engage students, foster confidence in language learning, and assess progress.
• Keep accurate records of student performance and attendance.
• Collaborate with the Spanish department and school administration.

Required profile

• Current Oregon teaching license or ability to obtain one.
• Proficiency in Spanish appropriate for middle‑school instruction.
• Strong classroom management and organizational abilities.
• Ability to step into an established program with confidence and flexibility.
• Successful completion of a background check and legal authorization to work in the United States.

Required skills

• Spanish language proficiency.
