Litigation Counsel

About the role

Discord is seeking an experienced Litigation Counsel to join its Legal team. Reporting to the Director of Global Litigation, you will work on a lean, high‑impact team handling consumer claims, regulatory inquiries, and IP disputes across the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Own and manage Discord's individual consumer claims docket end‑to‑end, including arbitrations, state AG complaints, and Digital Services Act (DSA) matters.
• Partner with senior litigation teammates on high‑stakes regulatory inquiries, putative class actions, and complex disputes.
• Lead discovery workstreams on major matters, overseeing document review, custodian identification, data preservation, and witness preparation.
• Manage trademark, copyright, and other IP litigation, including DMCA‑related disputes.
• Contribute to broader regulatory and enforcement initiatives, such as safety, content moderation, and platform liability.
• Provide flexible support across the litigation team, stepping into other matters as priorities shift.

Required profile

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 7+ years of combined experience at a law firm and/or in‑house, with exposure to technology or consumer‑facing platforms.
• Hands‑on experience with the full eDiscovery lifecycle.
• Litigation experience in consumer claims and global IP matters.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, able to tailor messages to engineers, executives, and outside counsel.
