Lift Mechanic II – Homewood Mountain Resort

About the role

The Lift Mechanic II will join the Lift Maintenance Department at Homewood Mountain Resort, ensuring the safe and reliable operation of all aerial and surface lifts. This position involves hands‑on mechanical, electrical and welding work in a challenging mountain environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform site‑specific lift maintenance, including sheave repair/replacement and high/low‑voltage electrical diagnostics.
• Repair, remove and service lift components such as bull wheels, motors, gearboxes, clutches and chairs.
• Conduct haul‑rope repairs, welding and custom fabrication as needed.
• Follow manufacturer guidelines, engineer direction, insurance requirements and ANSI B77 compliance procedures.
• Clear snow from critical lift components and maintain accurate, legally required maintenance records.
• Work safely on steep terrain and in deep snow while minimizing lift downtime.

Required profile

• 3–8 years of lift maintenance experience, capable of performing all LMT1 duties.
• Comprehensive understanding of lift systems, line‑gear rebuilding and servicing.
• Proven ability to complete monthly lift inspections and documentation on time.
• Experience leading lift evacuations and training team members in rescue procedures.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
