Licensing Analyst I – State of Georgia

About the role

The Licensing Analyst I supports the Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors Board within the Secretary of State’s office. Working under the Licensing Supervisor, the analyst organizes application materials, conducts initial reviews, and ensures compliance with licensure and examination requirements. The position follows a hybrid schedule, combining office and remote work.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate licensure and examination requirements, including required documentation, to applicants.
• Conduct an initial review of all applications within seven business days of receipt.
• Prepare and send correspondence identifying application deficiencies and request additional information.
• Acknowledge receipt of complaints, communicate with complainants, and request further details as needed.
• Research to support report generation and special projects as directed.
• Provide information regarding licensees/applicants upon request by the Board.
• Identify potential improvements to the application process and recommend changes.
• Process name and address changes within five business days of receipt.

Required profile

• Three years of related experience in an office setting.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to prioritize workload and manage time across multiple responsibilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of statutory or regulatory requirements, or ability to learn and apply them.
