Licensed Professional Counselor – Full‑Time

About the role

Ochsner is seeking a Licensed Professional Counselor to provide comprehensive bio‑psychosocial assessment, education, and treatment for patients with behavioral health needs in the Morgan City area. The role may involve in‑person or virtual visits and requires coordination of complex discharge plans and community referrals.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct complex assessments and deliver individualized therapy for patients with dual‑diagnosis and substance‑abuse issues.
• Develop and implement treatment plans that may include family therapy, marital counseling, and crisis interventions.
• Document psychosocial evaluations, care plans, progress notes, and discharge plans in the medical record.
• Utilize community resources and ensure fiscally responsible use of services.

Required profile

• Graduate degree (60 semester hours) in professional mental health counseling from a regionally‑accredited university.
• Active, non‑restricted LPC license in Louisiana (or equivalent LPC‑S, LMFT, LMFT‑S).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification (to be obtained within 2 weeks of hire).
• Preferred: two years of direct patient counseling experience.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Windows‑style applications and data entry for patient records.
• Computer literacy for retrieving and entering patient information.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification.
